Hello.

I am the author of My Father’s House, a work of literary fiction that was published over a decade ago. In the years since, I raised and home educated my three children while my husband completed his medical training. My writing became something of a subterranean flow that surfaced now and again in the form of journal articles and content for small, creative businesses.

In September 2023, we moved to the west coast of Ireland. Our children are furthering their self-directed learning journeys at Sligo Sudbury School and I am writing my next book. While I do the marathon work of novel writing, I offer you Upstream, essays that map the landscape as I see it.

This is a free publication, with the option to become a paid subscriber to support my work. You will receive a monthly journal post as well as My Sunday Best, a weekly digest of inspiration.

You can expect essays inspired by wild landscapes, the day-to-day rigour of alternative education and my post-pentecostal spirituality. I hope my work brings a little bit of wildness, some comfort and a dash of inspiration.

Say, “Hi.”

I would love these words to be the start of a conversation, so please write back.

Subscribe to Upstream

Upstream is an offering of essays that map the landscape as I see it. I will tell some old stories, a few borrowed stories and one or two that explore why walking against the weight of water is a beautiful calling.
